DIY plant hanger

What you’ll need 

– Scissors
– A plant
– A pot (for your plant)
– Small elastic bands
– Sisal twine or jute twine

Step 1
Cut four lengths of twine measuring 200cm (79 inches) and one piece measuring 50cm (20 inches).

Fold the four pieces of twine in half and secure them with the small elastic band.Schermafbeelding 2015-08-12 om 20.49.53

Step 2
Use a gathering knot to tie the four pieces of twine together. If you don’t know how to do a gathering knot click here! After you’re done with the gathering knot you can remove the elastic band.

Now split the pieces of twine into four sections (so every section has two pieces of twine).

Step 3
Cut of another piece of twine measuring 200 cm (97 inches). Use this piece of twine to make half-square knots on one section. If your don’t know how to make half-square knots click here!Schermafbeelding 2015-08-12 om 20.53.49

Step 4

Step 5
Divide the four sections again (into another four sections) make sure you group pieces that are next to each other. You can use elastic bands to tie the sections together. Schermafbeelding 2015-08-12 om 21.05.11

Step 6
Cut another four pieces of twine each measuring 40cm (16 inches). Use these pieces of twine to make square knots on each section. After that divide the sections again (yes again into four sections and make sure you group the pieces that are next to each other). Step 7
Now put all the sections together and make another gathering knot. Cut off the excess of twine at the bottom, put your plant and pot in the hanger, hang them op somewhere and you’re done!
